Viking necklace
Necklace made of stainless steel.
Runes is the alphabet of the Vikings. It is the eldest known writing in Norway, and was used in Scandinavia from around year 100 AD to late Middle Ages (approx. 1350-1537). The word “rune” does not have a clear translation, but it thought to mean “secret knowledge, mystery” or “council, conversation”. In the age of the Vikings it was popular to carve runes into weapons, jewellery and tools amongst other things. Runes have also been found on stone and stave churches, as well as farm buildings.
The writing on the necklace can be translated to HAR, where each letter has the following meanings:
H: hail, temporary difficulties, changing of plans, delay
A: Odin, Gods, mouth, breath, communication
R: wagon, momentum, rhythm, journey
